SUSPECT ARRESTED!
CSPD GET'S THEIR MAN
March 7th,2008 Coral Springs Fl:
Coral Springs Police arrested a suspect in the connection with
the murder of Anthony Murray, 30, of Virginia that occurred on
Wednesday, February 6, 2008.
Coral Springs Police received a tip from Crime Stoppers that
lead to the arrest of Anthony M. Colvert, 45, of Coral Springs.
Colvert is being charged with First Degree Murder.
Coral Springs PD had released a sketch on the possible shooter
as Coral Springs PD detectives on February 13 and continued to
search for clues and information regarding the murder of Anthony
Eric Murray. The sketch proved to be quite accurate if you
compare the above picture to it.
A t approximately 4:30 p.m. February 6th, Coral Springs police
responded to the 8600 block of Forest Hills Boulevard after
witnesses reported a shooting. Anthony Murray was found
unconscious in the roadway, a victim of a gunshot wound. Murray
was airlifted to North Broward Medical Center where he
pronounced dead.
Witnesses described the shooter as a heavy- set white male, with
medium length dark receding hair, approximately 5’7”, in his
40’s, wearing a yellow polo- style shirt with blue stripes. The
second suspect, believed to be the driver, is described as a
muscular white male approximately 6’1”, in his 30’s with short,
dirty blond hair, wearing a white t-shirt and black sweat pants.
Police were also seeking information on two vehicles seen in the
area at the time of the shooting. The vehicles are described as
a four- door red or maroon, older model box-shaped car (possibly
a Mercedes Benz) and a dark colored, light pick-up truck with a
sliding rear cab window.
