by Howard Melamed Coral Springs, FL April 1: With the increasing concern that it's northern border is unprotected due to the problems that Parkland is having with its police department, Coralsprings.com has learned that the City Commission of Coral Springs will vote to annex parkland at the next city commission meeting. Park Landers voted to abolish their police department and use Broward County Sheriff department for their citizens protection. They cited financial concerns even though Parkland , a town of 7500 residential homes an d no business, has the most expensive home in the county. " These cheap bastards living in these luxurious mansions refuse to pay their fair share of taxes " says one of the newly elected Coral Springs city commissioner Roy Gold. " They suck us dry by using our parks, services and ice rink, without contributing one red cent." he added, snickering and snarling while foaming at the mouth. " True" says one of Parkland's citizens who asked to have his name unrevealed for fear of repercussions. " We love to go south to Coral Springs use the facilities and then not flush the toilet. They are peasants! Poor shmucks with no clout. Never see any of them at the Polo matches" he added. After careful review of the issues, the new City Commissioners of Coral Springs and the new mayor did not waste any time in acting on behalf of the citizens of this city. They plan to present a motion for annexation and compel the State legislature to pass the statute that will give Coral Springs full control of the Parkland city. " Parkland will become one of our 'burbs' or burrows. We will make sure that the Northerners living in Parkland will pay the Southerners their fair share of tax burden on the ploughed fields of parkland,. They got too many cows up their. The Parkland sport of Cow Tipping will be taxed. Horses will have to have licenses. We will force Park Landers to clean up their stables so that Coral Springers will stop smelling the odor in the air." Says the new mayor. The South will win this time! "God Bless Coral Springs and nobody else." said commissioner Ted Mena. The concept of annexation is not a new one. The concept of taxiing a population is what Coral Springs commissioners do best. City Manager, Mike Levensen, made sure he was not available for comment "We will make them pay!" said newly elected Mayor ,
Scott Brooks, "7500 homes with an average appraised value of 500,000 per home makes them an easy target for taxation. Part of my business plan is to make them pay, and turn a profit so that all of the citizens of Coral Springs, even those that own minivans, will receive at least $100 , which will represent the surplus. We will prevail." The next city commission meeting will be on Tuesday , April
18th at 6:30 p.m. Citizens wishing to speak on any issue may present themselves at 7:30 pm where they will be given a chance to address the commissioners. OPINIONS? I WANT TO HEAR THEM. Click here to post them to the Forum |
